Relocation Lost Productivity Analysis

Lost productivity occurs with every relocation or facility change that a company experiences. Facilitec has created a formula to help companies determine the cost of lost productivity due to a relocation or facility chance.

Facilitec's formula uses the number of employees, the company's average employee salary, the average percentage cost of employee benefits, and the number of lost hours to relocate.

Below is an example calculation of lost productivity for a company with 50 employees with an average salary of $45,000.

Number of employees affected by move / change: 50

Average Salary: $45,000.00

Total Salary for Employees: $2,250,000.00

Average percent for employee benefits: 31.25 %

Total Salary including benefits: $2,812,500.00

Number of work hours per year: 42,080

Lost productivity cost per hour: $1,352.16

Total # of hours lost due to relocation / change: 324

Total Cost of Lost Productivity: $32,451.92

This analysis does not take into account required move and pack, meetings, or any other general meetings that occur in the early stages of the relocation.
