Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD)
Project:
Facilitec did a major renovation of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development South Eastern Regional Head Quarters building at Five Points Plaza including the HUD store prototyped by Gensler. We also worked in conjunction with GSA and RB Management.
Challenges:
To consolidate into a new facility for the effort of organization. HUD had been in the same facility for a long period of time without a wholistic view of how the entire organization worked; therefore, they looked to maximize productivity that they felt was lost over the eclectic changes that had occurred due to the facility that they relocated from.
Solutions:
The redevelopment of the 5 Points Plaza for the single tenant use of HUD. This facility allowed for both retail and office as well as great access to MARTA. The facility was designed with a new foyer entrance to the office, a HUD store on the main level, exterior patio for employees and clear floor plates to allow for best work flow and change.
