Chart
Project:
Chart, Inc. selected a one-story office/warehouse building for their new Ball Ground, Georgia headquarters, retaining Facilitec to provide turnkey services for their design, construction and relocation.
Challenges:
The raw space was a challenge, housing minimal windows and empty of all electrical, mechanical and plumbing services. Chart asked Facilitec to provide an appropriate corporate environment for two separate employee groups as well as a large, shared training facility. The remaining space needed to be composed of a substantial testing and development laboratory which required exceptional power and environmental control needs.
Solutions:
Facilitec designed a dramatic curved central core, utilizing the 12 foot ceiling height to create a central shared functionarea which includes the break room, restrooms and shared training facility. The central core provides separation of the corporate groups, allowing the employees areas access to daylight. Additionally, the placement of the central core provides easy access to and from the testing lab for movement of equipment to demonstration areas. Reflecting the use of stainless steel in Chart’s products, the interior design incorporates a palette of metallic finishes complimented with a variety of texture and pattern to provide visual interest. Through weekly integrated meetings with the Client, Contractor, Building Management, Client’s Vendors and Facilitec Team members, the relocation was accomplished on time and within the established budget.
